Siskiyou County MapIMPORTANT INFORMATION:  The West County (Happy Camp) and Sawyer’s Bar (Eddy Gulch) repeaters are currently out of service.

About: The Siskiyou County Amateur Radio Association, also known as SCARA, is a group of amateur radio operators located in Siskiyou County, California, and the surrounding areas.

Location: Siskiyou County is located in the middle of far northern California, just next to the Oregon border. The Interstate 5 freeway runs through the center of our area, and Mount Shasta, the second highest volcano on the west coast, is our best-known attraction. Siskiyou County includes the cities and towns of Yreka, Mt. Shasta, Weed, Dunsmuir, McCloud, & Tulelake as well as Butte Valley, Scott Valley, Shasta Valley, & the Klamath River Corridor.

Meetings:  A monthly meeting is held the first Saturday of each month. Be sure to check our Events Calendar each month to verify location. Our meetings are informal, and visitors (both hams and non-hams) are always welcome.

Net: A weekly net is conducted every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. on the SCARA repeater system. A roll call is conducted of “active” members and then visitors are invited to check in.

Amateur Radio Newsline:  The Amateur Radio Newsline bulletin is broadcast on the SCARA repeater system on Fridays at 7:30 p.m.
